Lizzie Wallace has lived in a remote cottage on the Wiltshire / Hampshire / Dorset border for over thirty years. She is deeply moved and inspired by the landscape and the ancient woods on her doorstep. She has been painting for many years looking at her subject with a simple eye using a naive approach . Her recent flower portraits using gold leaf on canvas are very beautiful ,  focussing on the simplicity of individual flowers placed in cherished jugs and vases using a rich palette of oranges , ochers and deep greens which moodily  glow in candlelight. Lizzie is continuing to work with flowers with a new collection in progress.
